Emilio Foffano, President - Burk's Falls and Area Chamber of Commerce
Summer has arrived in Almaguin Highlands and as everyone’s businesses prepare for the start of the tourist season I want to thank everyone for the tremendous support the Burk’s Falls and Area Chamber of Commerce has received since we started. Our goal to increase exposure to the area and local businesses has gained momentum and will continue to do so. Our first ever Almaguin Business Expo, by all accounts, was a tremendous success and we are planning on a similar event next year…only bigger and better. The northbound highway sign seems to have gathered us some attention as website traffic is on the rise. The southbound sign should be completed within a short time frame. As summer begins, chamber events and meetings will subside until the September when our next general meeting will take place and we will begin holding our “Business after Hours” events again. As always, we are looking for chamber member to volunteer to host any of the “Business after Hours” events. Keep in mind the purpose of the event is to mingle with chamber members, share “things gone right” or “things that could’ve gone better” with our businesses and, above all, support each other and learn about each other’s businesses and what we have to offer locally. There does not need to be a huge cost incurred to host the event. A final note, I hope everyone enjoys a prosperous summer season and I look forward to meeting with everyone in September for our next General Meeting.
